Optical Flats

Russell Optics, LLC manufactures and stocks a line of Optical Flats ranging from 1 ” to 12 ” in diameter.
14"-16" diameter flats available upon request.

The material is a high quality Fused Quartz.
Our Optical Flats are provided in a Wooden Storage Case with Certification to N.I.S.T.

If you are testing material with a matte finish we can provide Optical Flats with a coating of Titanium Dioxide, which will enhance the fringe pattern to see the fringes easier.  This coating is not necessary to test parts with a shiny surface. This coating does not protect the surface of the optical flat in any way; it's strictly an enhancement for fringe pattern.
All coated optical flats are single surface only.

We have a nice variety of core drills to accommodate your special optical flats for solid diameters not listed; along with optical flats that need a through hole.  These are priced according to sizes, tolerances and flatness requirements.  Please provide all your specifications for price and delivery.

We will test your supplied optical flat (s) for flatness and provide certification to N.I.S.T. if it passes. 
If it doesn't pass flatness specifications, we will contact you to discuss your options to recondition the surfaces in house to the specification required. 
If you already know your flat (s) surfaces need reconditioning, contact us for pricing and typical turnaround time.
