Our first venture into the manufacture of Precision Optics began with Miken Optical a business begun in 1968 by friends and then partners Jack D. Russell and Robert J.Lurie it was located in Morristown, New Jersey. Move forward, if you will, to 1978 when Jack and Bob amicably dissolved their partnership and Russell Optics was founded in Woodstock, Virginia. In 1983 Jack decided to shorten his drive to the Vermont ski areas and moved Russell Optics to our present facility in beautiful, West Rutland, Vermont where we manufacture ultra precise, custom optics for the world.
Our philosophy of customer satisfaction coupled with high precision has made us a leader in the field. Ours is a complete shop capable of producing optics from the beginning quotations to completed job in a professional, high quality and timely manner. Our primary focus is in Super-flat optics.
